CNLA assists with COP messaging at Architect Congress in France

The International Federation of Landscape Architects (IFLA) held its 2025 World Congress in Nantes, France, in early September. Council meetings addressed messaging for upcoming United Nations’ COP (Conference of the Parties) events, emphasizing nature-based solutions, a stronger industry voice, and industry collaboration.

CNLA Vice President Alan White, who participated in the council meetings and a panel discussion during the congress, highlighted the role of landscape architects in shaping a common future.
It was an exciting time in France where we were able to find synergies between numerous like-minded organizations, while at the same time underscoring the value of plants connecting with people for a cleaner, healthier urban climate. - Alan White
The Congress established key connections with the United Nations’ Environment Programme, the World Bank, and the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, leading to follow-up discussions between the CNLA, IFLA, the International Association of Horticultural Producers, the World Green Infrastructure Network, the International Society for Urban Health, and other organizations.
